Sunday and Monday

On Sunday afternoon we boarded the Sapphire Princess, in Seattle, for a seven day cruise up to Alaska and back. We unpacked and set about to explore our ship. It was kind of chilly and rainy so we bundled up! Just beyond my face is the walkway that connected all seven of our balconies together. Before we got on the ship we made the rule that Andrew couldn't go on the balcony. When we got there, we saw that the balconies on the floor below us jutted out 8 feet beyond ours, so we felt a little safer, but he never got close to the railing! On Monday morning, Adam and Mike played an intense game of chess, but I don't know who won, because I left early to attend a lecture that we thought would tell us about the must see places on our route. It turned out to be a sales pitch of epic proportions. We were told that the number one reason people cruise to Alaska is to buy the fabulous diamonds, watches and luggage that you can only get there! The girl who gave the lecture was a top notch salesman, and Kim should seriously consider hiring her. It was totally Lame!

We leapfrogged with this cruise ship for the whole trip. We would see her in the same ports every day!

On Sunday night, we tried to set up our dining for the rest of the cruise. We had "anytime dining" which means we could eat at any restaurant at any time we wanted, but we wanted to have a table reserved for us for our dinners. It worked out really well. We ate in a smaller dining room, at two tables. Monday was our first formal dinner, and it turns out I don't have a picture of that! But we had a picture taken, and then went to eat. Our server was fabulous! She fell in love with Andrew and was all the time talking to him, and trying to make him laugh, or happier than he was. Our dinners with Miheala were wonderful!
