For Memorial Day, we trekked down to St. George to visit stay with Grandma and Grandpa Hansen. We got there late Thursday night (my birthday), and the next day headed out for some adventures. The kids LOVED hiking and climbing on the rocks.
Adam spent some time remembering his youth, and all his rock climbing days.
For the rest of the trip Isaac kept asking to go back so he could go rock climbing again. He had such a good time.
This kid also had a great time. But he was somewhat frustrated that I wouldn't let him just climb right on up the rocks, like the rest of the kids. He kept getting mad that I'd try to hold his hand, or pick him up.
The park by Grandma and Grandpa's house has a water feature, as most parks in St. George do, so we spent the afternoon there.
Madeleine and Benjamin played in the water happily, but Isaac was more cautious. He doesn't really like water splashing on him, so he mostly stuck to the outside of the park.
Our motto for the summer is "No moping, no sulking, no mumbling." Madeleine rarely follows these rules.
At a different park the next day Andrew was loving climbing all the ladders.
We also drove out to see some historical sites. Madeleine wore these sunglasses she convinced Grandma she needed continuously.
This was a little fence that was probably supposed to keep little people off the dinosaur tracks in the rock. The fence didn't keep us away, and it was probably Andrew's favorite part of the day. He walked up and down it again and again.
All in all, we had a great time and were super sad to have to leave the gorgeous St. George weather to come home to almost snow.
